Default Inner tie rod replacement?

Hey any of you guys ever replace an inner tie rod? I have a C5 and got hit the other night in my driver side front wheel at like 2-5mph. I took the wheel off and the only damage appears to be the threaded rod going into the tie rod end. It is bent giving that wheel major toe in. After some quick research it looks like that part is the inner tie rod. I see where it connects to the outside by the tire and that looks easy to remove, however the inside I dont see how to remove. It goes into a boot and then somewhere. So back to the original question any of you guys replaced one? Will I need any special tools? Finally is there any writeups with pics on this?
Thanks for any help although there is a lot of snow on the ground right now I still want to get it fixed quick.
Patrick

Pat, price out the part, then price out a good used rack, you might be better off going w/ a new or used rack, not a bad swap

what the heck hit you, I'll be at work 'til 10 tonight, hit me up

Hey Steve how you been? The part looks to be $80 bucks shipped from GMpartdirect. I am going to contact Gene and see if he can beat that price, his web site says more $80. I will give you a call later.
