Yea, supposedly there is special 'wheel/tire' remover. Surprisingly not all Chevy dealerships or tireshops have it. Find one that does, and try to watch them too. It's very easy to scuff the wheels when doing this process. :)
In terms of price for changing a set of C5 tires, this is what I have found in my local area:
Goodyear dealer: $292 :bs
Firestone dealer: "I won't touch them" :nonod:
Discount Tire dealer: $185 (and two days to do it)
Tires Plus dealer: "$80...oh, they're 18"? I don't have a machine that will do that big!" :nonod:
I haven't checked with the Chevy dealer yet. Any suggestions, anyone?
I just had my rear tires changed after one of my Goodyears had a blowout and split the sidewall wide open (oh well, 25k miles on 'em and not much tread left anyway :) ) Discount Tire did them, I don't remember the exact charges for everything, but for both rear tires I think it was around $50 total for mounting and balancing. They did a great job, no damage at all to the wheel or anything.
