Default which tuner?????

I would like to buy a tuner that will reprogram fan temp setting, and other systems as I tinker with settings. Is there anything out there that does more than read codes as my car does that already 2001 roadster. Best for the least money, but with instructions and softway updates if possible for a low price. Car runs hot... I've cleaned rad...Now thinking about changing thermostat, and change fan settings.. I know I will change thermo, to a 180, as car runs at 201 to 205 in normal driving, and 230 when in traffic.. I live in So. Ca., and 100 degree temps on the way this summer. Some say this is normal, but not to me. PS this was wifes car, and she never drove over freeway speeds...rpm never over 2500. thanks for advice. chuck

Changing therm won't help if you can't keep the car at 190. When you say you cleaned the radiator, what do you mean? Externally or internally? These things pickup dirt/sand in the fins like there is no other car I've seen. And you really have to take the radiator OUT to clean it right. I have done a reasonable job by just taking of the fans and using a long air blower (with a right angle tip), but I got a LOT more when I pulled it out and was able to see what I was doing.

On the tuner note, I'd have to ask you what mods you have and what mods you're going to do. If none, a Diablo Predator will probably suffice, but I'd still have to say buy HP Tuners or EFI Live. Either of the last two will do just about anything you want. Check out their websites. They are expensive, but it will be the last one you buy instead of the first of #.
