I think you can also use WD-40 - simply spray it on the side of the filter that the air FIRST goes into (ie: entrance side of the filter, NOT the exit side)
DO NOT use an air hose to dry filter; it will punch holes in the cotton material. I would only use K&N type oil on filter. Use sparingly - let sit half a day or more and then fill in any white spots. Over oiling will cause leaking (or sucked up) on the MAP sensor wires and will cause problems. Wires can be cleaned with special MAP cleaner. Never touch wires with fingers or cloth - very thin fragile wires can be damaged or dirty with oil or other contamination.
