My original CD player went to ERR and I found a CD disc stuck and would not slide back into the cartridge.
I bought a used one from my neighbor that was hardly ever used. It was out of his wife's 2002.
It just did the exact same thing. I did find a place that will repair them at a great expense.
My question is????
Can a six CD disc player just plug into the wiring or is there any other CD players that can be used that holds up better then the original factory planned obsolesance crap that Pioneer made for GM to put in the Corvettes?
I hate to change the whole radio system because the radio and tape player are working just fine.
The place in Tampa repairs these but charges a lot and no warrenty on how long they will last after being repaired. They do all of the OEM repairs for a lot of different auto manufactures using original parts.

Change to an AUX Box and hook up any MP3 player you like. Much easier, more songs, cheaper, and better quality.
More songs, I'll agree with that. But quality? I don't think the compression of MP3 format allows them to have the same quality regardess of the quality of your system. JMHO

You don't need to compress at all, I use Apple lossless on my NANO. I use the word MP3 to describe a handheld music player. The AUX Box allows you to hook up any audio device to the radio. Most people can not tell the difference in a car audio setting.
IMHO the CD changers are awesome when they work, but are as finickey as HECK! I would not give up on yours. Try putting the CDs in again. If they are slightly out of place, you get the ERR. I just swapped out a couple Christmas CDs and it took my three tries before I got the Player to recognize the new CDS. If you want to try, you can put one CD in at a time and see if it accepts it. If there is a certain tray that gives you a problem, just leave it blank or swap it out with the #12 tray.
I think once you get a feel for the player, you can load them up on a regular basis without any probems.
