Default Jet PCM installation experience

OK, here's my story (yes I already did a search).....I bought a Stage 1 PCM from Jet Performance products. It's a piggyback to the stock one and goes between that and the computer. Well...

I jacked up the car and took off the passenger fender wall and found the PCM(Power Control Modules). I didn't know there was two down there plugged in. Well it told me to take out the one less near to the fender.

Here are the instructions I followed..

http://www.jetchip.com/pdf/howto/GM%...S1Corvette.pdf

My problem is not getting the Jet PCM on, but actually plugging in the old PCM on top of the Jet! The wires don't give me enough clearance to put it in straight!

I mean, I am this close to being done after a hour and a half but had to put everything back to stock again

They told me to take the old PCM's plastic cover off the back to give the wiring clearance. I tried and tried but the darn thing doesn't come off.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT HERE? Anyone with experience installing this?

I don't need to hear any critical comments about the Jet PCM and how I should get a tune instead. Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

MG

I hear ya brother!!

As for the plastic cover, you DO need to remove it. I removed it for my 98, and my BIL removed it for his 2003. I can't remember exactly how we did it, but I'm sure it involved a small screw driver and some cursing. I wish I could be more help.
