2000 corvette horn
Matt
1) sounds like the selling dealer is being straight with you about any "problems" with the car
2) The Chevy dealer should/will be able to fix the problem
3) The fact is that a Corvette is more "sensitive" to electrical issues because the body is "plastic", whether a C4, C5, or C6. Clean grounding to the vehicle chassis is critical for these cars, especially now as more and more of the car is controlled by computers, not switches and other manual means.
If you search these forums you will find many threads dealing with electrical issues on the C5 ..... BUT ..... remember that out of the literally hundreds of thousands of members here, most are driving a VERY reliable vehicle.
Sounds to me like the selling dealer is being fair with you ... I wouldn't get too concerned over the horn. Now if the front fascia is held on with zip ties ... then I'd be worried ....
The C5 will give you miles of smiles, once in a while it will have a problem, then come to your friends on the forum and they will help you fix whatever issues may arise with the car .....
Enjoy the new ride. I have 120K on mine now as a daily driver in rain, snow, ice and sun. Will put another 10K just in the month of March driving all over Texas and New Mexico. My wife loves to take the vette instead of the SUV on these long trips.
