The dealer is dropping the trans to fix a leaking front seal. Got the '02 Z06 clutch and slave to go in as they will do it free (its at 33k mi) :yesnod:
I'm looking for some high temp fluid because the clutch acts up when its used allot at hi RPM's on a consistant basis.
Maybe the fluid is boiling and then goes to crap. Trying to prevent that by getting some good fluid in there. :)
Which fluid should be used?
That is the way to do it! Nott a cheap piece to install by any means. :yesnod:
Your fluid should not be cooking? I would stick to the stock fluid.
What do you mean by acting up? If that means sticking to the floor and such, you probably ned a new slave and master cylinder.

Good Luck,
It doesn't stick to the floor. It's enguagment piont changes when its driving hard. When tooling around town its usually fine. Lots of 3rd gear passes on the freeway will reproduce this problem. It probably is the slave. I wouldn't know if the fluid is cooking or not.
I put Valvoline Synthetic (which exceeds dot 3 and dot 4 wet/dry boiling points) in my clutch (completely drained and refilled) (Caretk) and also bled my brakes with it....super fluid with no dot5 drawbacks. Hasn't turned black either.
[QUOTE]You need the modified M/C Line to fix that hydraulic congestion problem in 3rd & 4th. QUOTE]
I debated putting the unrestricted line on but opted to just to go with the beefier clutch package because the modded line would void the warranty on the drive train.
The Z06 clutch seems to handle the quick starts better, although it could be just getting a better bite because it's new. I actually got a little wheel spin, last week, while shifting quickly to 4th @ 105 mph!
