dual hvac unit
does anybody know if the dual zone hvac control from a 2002 will work in a 99...it seem the part numbers are not the same 97-99 one number and 2000-04 another number...fried mine trying the led swap now looking for another one

I doubt it, there are 3 head units, the following are the GM part numbers,
1997 .... 9356081
1998 and 1999 ...... 16254311
2000 thru 2004 ..... 10345293
usually GM won't carry "duplicate" parts for different years, so there most likely is a difference.

I'll send the 5 bucks to the OP ..... the PCM are different for the different years, and the HVAC unit "requests" that the A/C compressor be turned on by the PCM (which controls the A/C compressor clutch).
PCM part numbers ....
1997 .... 16232148
1998 .... 16238212
1999/2000 ..... 9354896
2001/2002 ..... 12200411
Since the HVAC head unit costs about the same regardless of year, the OP should order/purchase a unit compatible with his car ... there is no price advantage buying the head unit for a different year.

spoke to that guy and he told me he cant repair my unit ...its the microprocessor that gone...he can't get that part.....and a new one cost 350$ from gm online vendors...on the popular auction site they are about $100 but the vendors are all over the place when asking if their part will work in my car
