high oil pressure reading

Default high oil pressure reading

i`m getting a high oil pressure reading on my c-5 . i checked the oil and everything seems to be running great.i even did another oil change.a friend said it might be a sensor going out.any ideas?

Sounds like the Oil Pressure Sensor. Shut the engine off and turn key on. If it shows oil press w/eng off, its the sensor. Located at rear of eng, behind intake maniforld. Search this forum for write ups and pics. HTH

I first bought my car that was something i told the dealership to fix, they changed the sensor, and it turned up being the instrument cluster shorted out. Good luck on removing the intake. I gotta do a knock sensor on my c5. to you and me...

If it turns out to be sensor think about remote sensor.

See thread on oil pressure sensors. It is a little more initial work but will save you from having to pull intake manifold when sensor goes bad again.

I cut the hole. It is easy to replace now. Of course relocating would be easy also. I just didn't feel like removing the manifold.

THANKS for the input guys! i did shut the engine off and turned the key on and it showed pressure so it must be the sensor.thanks! now just gotta figure out what i want to do.haha
