Default installing engine, where do these hoses go????

hey dropping engine (99 LS1) in right now, i can't see where the little plastic hose that comes out in the wiring harness goes. its comes out of the harness which goes across over the rear of the engine. its maybe a 1/4" hose and it sticks out of the harness by only 6 inches or so.... you'd think its related to the intake manifold or possibly the winshield wipers... but i don't think so... can anyone give me a hint where this goes?? thanks.

Also, theres a black rubber boot that comes out of the firewall into teh engine bay on the passenger side, somewhere around 1/2 way up the firewall, not sure what is connected to it.

Thanks

lol, can't believe i didn't see it, theres a sensor on the back of the intake, the small tube from the wiring harness goes into there.

I have the engine inplace and bolted to the torque tube, I'm just trying to raise the cradle and guide the 4 studs right now... put the harmonic balanced on with the engine in place... made for a bit of a headache but its good now.

anyone know what that rubber boot that goes into the firewall is? it looks like the size of a sparkplug boot and has a 90 degree bend to it... i wonder if anything plugged into it at all? passenger side, about 1/2 way up the firewall...

Thanks.

That is the drain for your HVAC unit and it doesn't get hooked to anything. If you can still get to it, clip the end off so it's wide open and clear. Sometimes this drain will get plugged with debris and then back up into the car and drain onto the BCM in the passenger footwell.

That sensor is the MAP sensor and the small vacuum hose doesn't get plugged into the sensor but gets plugged into the intake manifold next to the sensor, this hose routes the vacuum that operates the AIR pump as well as your HVAC actuators.
