Default MAFT wiring on an LS6

Does anyone know which wires need to be spliced to use the MAF Translator on the new MAF? I am playing around with it on my 98' to get familiar with it, but it ultimately goes on my 01' Race car.

Thanks!

Dave

In 2001 GM added the intake air temperture sensor to the MAF housing, which added the extra two wires over 97-00 design. in 97-00 the IAT sensor was attached at the air bridge between the throttle body and the MAF sensor.

Here is a schematic of the wires for a 01+ MAF

If I was going to hardwire it for example, this is what I would do.
note: I dont think GM sells any of the connectors we would need to make a quick disconnect.
so you will need to splicing connectors a crimping tool and such:

I would connect the stock wiring harness to the MAF.
I would then locate a good position on the wiring harness to cut the pink, black, and yellow wires.
This is where you will "splice in" the MAF Translator.
The Translatir has 6 wires going into it. From top to bottom they are:
PINK
BLACK
YELLOW

GREEN
BLACK
PINK

The set of PINK, BLACK, YELLOW will attach to the wires you cut going TO the MAF, matching color to color.
The set of GREEN, BLACK, PINK will attach to the wires you cut going TO the PCM matching GREEN TO YELLOW, BLACK TO BLACK and PINK TO PINK.

You should not cut the IAT wires (the tan and purple ones).

You will see in the picture that the Yellow wire is the MAF Sensor Signal Wire, the Pink Wire is the Ignition voltage Wire, and the BLack/White Wire is the Ground. The Tan and Purple wires are the IAT sensor wires.

BTW, i think Mike Licht has a MAFT now that works with the 01 Plus wiring harness.

I hope this gives you a better understanding of what you need to do.

Dave, check this out ... click here

I'm wondering if this adapter will work?
And where to get one?
