RPM while on idle.....

Hi guys, I was wondering, what RPM you guys idle on? I have 2004 Automatic coupe that idles between 500-1000. Sometimes its at 500 rpm firmly..others 700 and often times 1000.

What should it normally idle on and if Iam under the norm, what concerns should I have?

my 01 couple usually idles at 600-700 rpms and 1000 when its cold

Desired idle speed is dependant on if it's in gear or park/nuetral, and the engine coolant tempature, as well as if the A/C is on or not. As the ECT gets hotter, the car will idle lower.

I noticed today, while the car was in park position and warming up..it was idling around 600 or so. After I started to drive(15 minutes of freeway at an average of 70 mph and another 5 minutes of red lights with average of 35-40pmh) i came to a redlight and it was idling at 500-600. AC was not on and the ECT was normal as usual.
