Loose passanger mirror on 1997

Loose passanger mirror on 1997
When my car was shipped to me, the passanger mirror was folded in and is now loose at the pivot joint. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix the problem? It appears the lock nut on the shaft is loose. Can the glass mirror be removed from the assembly to gain access to the loose nut?

I just used a couple of screws in it to tighten.
