0803 Code... help

0803 Code... help

I've reset, but it keeps popping up..

the check engine light is hard for me to look at...

any ideas? All I've done so far is to tighten my gas cap, and to remove and re-assemble my skip shift device..

Help.

If I am reading correctly, you have since removed the CAGS eliminator and set it back up as original? The reason I ask is because I have read of the CAGS resistor going bad.

Yes, I just took a SWAG that it was a P0803 because he mentioned the skip shift.

It's an '01 Vert.

the code is 10 PCM P0803 H C.

I currently had the skip shift device installed. I had re-installed it earlier hoping I just hadn't clicked it in good the first time...

I would hook it back up as original to see if there might not be a problem with the CAGS eliminator you have.

I had a P0803C code come up yesterday. Pulled the CAGS bypass and the resistor is fried.

No code with this setup. I guess it's a bad CAGS eliminator..

Uuugh, this things only about 2 months old... Still I guess it's better than something more expensive being no bueno..

I popped mine out yesterday and dug out the sealant to get to the resistor and sure enough it was gone. I got a pack of 5 2.2k .5w resistors from Radio Shack and soldered one on and resealed it. Plugged it back in, cleared the code...problem solved. Total cost $ 1.07 and about 1/2 hour.
