Default Wacky Window -- Help?

My driver's side window goes down hard then makes some cycling noises and comes back up about 2 inches. I push the up button and it goes back down. Push the up again and it comes up but not without a lot of grinding noises like glass or plastic. I had the door panel off today to see of there was something that may have broken or came loose but there was none. Is the trouble with the gearbox on the regulator?

It could be the regulator itself. They have a tenancy to click and creak when they go bad. I owuld also look at the railt that the motorized arms ride on. Make sure they are lubricated. If you can also check for the rivets that hold the motor in place, if they start to come loose the motr will move which can cause thw window to not move like it should and also bind.

Ok, I'll check those rivets. I quess I have to determine if it is just the motor or the whole set up.

If it turns out you need a new drivers side assembly send me a PM. I have one that I bought last year that I ended up not having a need for.. it has never been installed.
