I know not another heads cam question.

Gasket Kit: | Heads & Cam GM Gasket Kit
Oil Pump: | TSP Ported LS6 Oil Pump
Pushrod Length: | 7.400" Length (Standard)
TSP XS Series Camshaft: Magic Stick V.3 237/242, .603"/.609
The cam shaft seems pretty big to me. I was asking about the 224/224 or the 228/228. I know but I'm still learning here.
I have a target goal of 430-450 RWHP. I don't mind a little chop from the cam, but still want to maintain good driveability. The car is an MN6 with LG streets that I just ordered, Borla stinger cat back and Haltech stinger CAI, other then that it is stock. And yes I live in SLC Utah where we do have a sniffer and such, so that is also a concern.
I have not heard alot about putting the 5.3 heads on always 243 LS6 heads so was not sure about that. I was going to do a clutch swap and under drive pulley while it was apart. I'm not to smart on cam or head choices AFR and such is a little out my price range at the moment. Any and all help would be great!!

What are you wanting, how do you use the car, and is emissions (sniff) testing a concern?
Yes, the MS3 is a pretty big cam, and I'm kinda surprised they'd recommend it to you if you were wanting a more mild cam.
If what you want is a loud, hard loping, high hp/high rpm car, the MS3 is a good choice.
If you want a moderate bump in power, but still want the car to act, sound, and drive almost like stock, then yes a 224ish cam is what you should be looking at.
If you want something a little in between, best of both worlds..decent hp, somewhat choppy idle...but without the street drivability drawbacks of a big top end cam, then the compromise I suggested above would be a great choice IMO.
First, the MS3 is not that bad if tuned properly, but without a very good tune, you will hate it. Mine is completely DD'able, but its tuned right
As for power, it is great. The 5.3 heads bump the compression up, but still flow very good. Overall you should be in the 450 RWHP range. It will not make a ton of power below 3000, but hang on once that cam kicks in.
The only catch to this kit with a M6 is you will eventually want to put some gears in it, i like 4.10's with that cam.
For the money, IMO that is the best way to make alot of horsepower without breaking the bank. There are head and cam kits that make more power, but for 450 RWHP for 1600ish$ is a great bargain
