Default Engine removal

Just purchased a '01 with the front end knocked down. Need to pull engine. Have read service manual, but does anyone have tips? Thanks in advance, Rex

ok. Pulling the engine is not much more complicated than those of old; except you have to drop the K frame. You can pull it from the top. Just remember to support the engine from the bottom so it does not fall backward into the firewall. - You want to ensure that when you lower the K frame (which is the aluminum front cradle supporting the engine and bolted to the frame) that you support the engine. You can lower this K frame away from the main frame by removing the 4 big bolts holding it to the frame (will also have to remove some of the A arm suspension bolts). Also remember to support the torque tube so as not to bind the transmission and rear. Once you start, it will be obvious. But one can pull the engine from the top if you use common sense.

Thanks for the feedback. What you said makes perfect sense and is not nearly as complicated as the manual makes it sound. Rex
