You might want to think about one of the best bangs for your buck - a Blackwing intake, a Halltech Stinger intake or a Vararam.

Your gas mileage should remain close to the same and you engine will wake up a bit when you put your foot in it.
I ended up with a Volant dual cone filter and a hood seal. Its a start.

In an ideal mod sequence... cam or converter first for us A4's?

This is assuming a full intake and longtubes have already installed. (my stock catback isn't going anywhere)

Depends on what size cam you are contemplating. If it's a baby cam, you can get away with the stock converter - if bigger then I would suggest the stall before or during the cam install.

Default Cam

Could you provide a max size for a "baby cam" duration intake, exhaust; lift intake, exhaust, and lsa?

That's really tricky. Once you move the idle speed up from stock 550rpm to 800+rpm, the stock converter wants to engage (like a clutch on a manual car). You feel like you have cruise control on all the time - which is fine for some and annoying for others.

It all depends on your tolerance for "bad behaviour" - viz: non stock behaviour.

I would definitely suggest a stall with my Whiplash cam (or even Monster cam)

Default Hey Stephen !!!!!!!!!!!!

How are you doing ? I know you have probably been busy as a bee, Thanks for the whiplash cam, still sitting on the shelf, but still planning on you installing it along with the kit and stall converter. But I was wondering if you have sold anyone the ( EnglandGreen Insanity Cam™) yet ? cause I would really like to hear that bad boy.

But hopefully before much longer I will be giving you a call to set everything up so you can install my whiplash, Hope everything has been going well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things are good, thanks for asking!

I have sold 3 Insanity cams. The last one I sold went to the same customer that previously bought my Godzilla cam for his C5 Z06. It was a Procharger F1R 383ci forged engine and it made over 800rwhp with my Godzilla cam. He sold that car here on the Forum.

He now has a 2008 C6 Z06 and he installed my Insanity cam - stock heads, stock pulley, just long tube headers and intake on his LS7 and made - get this - 569rwhp all naturally aspirated. He is planning on twin turbos in the near future and we anticipate well north of 900rwhp.

That is 569rwhp from (essentially) a cam only install.

Oh yes - and at idle, the Insanity chops like a lumberjack!!
