Default Performance Exhaust Question

I want some addt'l h/p and a better sound than the stock exhaust on
my 01 conv. I have looked into the B&B Bullet exhaust which states an
addt'l 22 h/p @ the r/w and a sound that is ONLY for the serious enthusiast, which I feel i am. The h/p sounds like a great jump but i
wonder if the sound might be too loud, if that is possible. Has anyone
had this exhaust installed on their vette and if so, hows the sound?

Horsepower claims from cat-back systems are bogus. Might be able to squeeze another 3 or 4 rwhp maximum on high horsepower applications.

Sound is a matter or personal preference. Best bet is to take a ride down to your local Vette club or meets or racetrack and listen to the combinations and pick the one you like the best...

I'm even more conservative on a RWHP claim 1-2 .
Most buy them for the looks and sound

did you check their web page, they have sound clips.

I was going to go with BB-Bullets but opted to go with a nice used TI Exhaust - which I bought on this forum.

I love the TI's, sound better than stock but not over the top and I save a little weight too.

We just installed bullets on my nephew's '04 convert.
The sound is really deep and powerful, and not obnoxious under normal driving. Much lower and powerful sounding than my Ti. I love it around town. But on the highway, the resonance is absolutely unacceptable to me. HHHHMMMMMMMMMM. Of course, I'm a grandpa, who thinks one should arrive at their destination with all their teeth fillings intact.
For those who say resonance is not an issue, they either don't drive much on the highway, they drive at different speeds or in lower gears to minimize it, or they are very young or very hardy.
as the Cable Guy said " I don't care who you are, resonance sucks".

a catback will do nothing but add sound. if you want more power do full exhaust and intake.

HP claims from just the "Cat" back are bogus. Go with the sound you like, not the HP claims.

Now that was funny!
First, WELCOME to the Forum. you should probably fill out your profile. I agree with the other comments regarding HP increase claims, but it really does sound like you are going faster . Since it is so subjective, you really should, not only, listen to sound clips, but also see what the total set up is. Cats with a nice cam and headers vs. just cats will make a difference. For this reason, I went with ti's. With headers and cam, the ti's provided just the sound I was looking for.
