Adjustable suspension? Or are you talking about the magnetic ride option?

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but pretty close. I can't imagine how many sensors and how much wiring you would have to figure out how to add. Plus there is also the expense of the shocks themselves.

Does your car have the F45 Real Time Damping suspension on it now ?? If so, GM sells a kit to upgrade your F45 to the F55 suspension. If you don't have the F45, I think you'll find it would be VERY expensive in parts and labor to put the F55 magnetic suspension on the car.

Look on your console, is there a rotary switch with settings marked TOUR, SPORT and PERFormance ???? If you have the switch you have the F45 option. No switch, no option.

Or you can also look at your RPO sticker (IIRC on a 1999 it'll be inside the glovebox cover) and see if the F45 option code is on the sticker.

If you have the F45 it is upgradeable to F55 (magnetic) suspension .... see GM part number 12499507 ....

see http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=12499507 for more info.

IMO, Go with coilovers. I could never tell the difference in the F45 settings on my 2000. Installed PFADT's.

For the 1999 year, there were 3 possible suspension options. FE1 is the "standard" suspension. FE3 is the "sport" suspension, and F45 is the Real Time Damping (RTD) suspension. Look at your RPO sticker to see what suspension your car left the factory with.

Why do you want coilovers ??? Unless you race, or at least run the car on a road course in an HPDE, you don't need that kind of suspension. The advantage to coil overs is they give a racer a suspension that can be adjusted for a particular track, for a street car it is a waste of money .... and believe me it is a LOT of money to purchase and install coilovers.

What do you want from your suspension ?? Is the car your daily driver and you'd like a little "softness" in your suspension, or is this a "weekend warrior" car where cornering/handling is important, or is this a drag strip car where you want to minimize rear-end squat ???

Let us know what you're looking for ......

If you just want a nice all-around suspension upgrade on a base car, it's tough to beat a full take-off Z06 setup. Coil-overs will easily run you 3x as much.
