I think what he's getting at is that you get more tire wrinkle and better launches out of the whole and such. When I had some 17" rims out back last year with MT's I was cutting 1.6 60'' times but I've heard of people getting that with 295/35/18 BFG's so not sure about that whole statement anymore that people make about having more sidewall. The only thing about having more sidewall is that it will be a lot more foregiving on your drivetrain when you dead-hook.
JUST BETTER OUT OF THE HOLE, AND IN F/T MORE TIRE WRINKLE.
Well I ended up going w/ the BFG's and am very happy w/ them so far. Night and day difference VS nittos and I was surprised at how stable they are at speeds and cornering, I can finally feel what second and third feel like. I even got caught in a little rain last night and they didnt seem too bad. My nittos were pretty worn when I took em off and they were much more squirly towards their end. Not to mention how mean these things look, they run wide as hell too, almost a full inch wider than the nittos were for a bad *** tire
got 1.66 60 ft from bfg 295x35x18 drs launched at 2600 at 22lbs. will be dropping to 18psi and launching 3000 and little higher next time out
I put on BFG DR's 295/35/18 and drove my car to the strip (because my truck battery had died) and ran 1.603 60' times. I don't mind driving the BFG's on the street if it's not raining, but wouldn't do it
all the time because they wouldn't last long.
