I don't know exactly how much a dealer would charge you, but it's a very simple procedure. Take off airbag (four fasteners, two connectors), take off wheel (one big nut, use puller), take off clockspring (remove C-clip, unplug two connectors) and reverse. 15 minutes if that.
You can also get a used clock spring, a lot cheaper.
GM list price for the clockspring is about $90.00, and I'll bet the dealer charges an hour labor ..... with taxes etc., I'd guess you're looking in the arae of about $200.00 for fixing this. Did someone disconnect your steering wheel recently?? If they didn't lock it after disconnecting the steering column, not only will it cause the clockspring to break because the wheel turned freely, but you are also probably getting SERVICE AH/TC messages because your steering wheel position sensor is out of synch.
Dealership told me I needed a new clockspring for the airbag- that is why my airbag light is on. How much should this cost to replace?
Thanks in advance
Steering Wheel is a biotch to get off sometimes even with the correct puller.
I broke two sets of J-hooks getting mine off before it broke loose. Other than the steering wheel it's a pretty simply job, but it is no 15 minute job, it's more like an hour.
You have to disable Airbag system, pull off airbag, then steering wheel and then the clock spring.

Sorry to revive old thread but I'm hoping to do this this weekend. Would you happen to have more detailed instructions...?
Sam, take a look at this Thread that is active now. I made a couple of posts at the end you should look at. Including a great video in the link I last posted.
