HVAC damper changes with heat/cold
1. 20 degrees outside temp
2. Heat set for 90
3. Fan speed maximum
4. Set for forward vent only (not auto)
The damper closes down the forward airflow and diverts about 50% to the windshield. If I reduce the temperature to... say 70.. I get more airflow to the front vents. If I set to 60... I get 100% air flow to forward vents.
Likewise for the passenger control.
No HVAC codes... if I force a reset... the HVAC turns 100% flow back to the forward vents then changes back to 50/50 windshield/vents again.
Second question... When I accidently hit the A/C button... it blinks a pattern then shuts off. Is this built in to disable the A/C when outside temp is too cold?
Thanks again!
Can anybody test this? Possibly only in colder climates; see if you have air blowing to your windshield when set at 90 degrees. Set fan speed to high... now reduce the temperature and see if it automatically diverts air back to front vents.
Keep in mind this is NOT auto mode and is only set to vent from the front vents.
