I want to install a power telescopic steering wheel into my 99 Vert it doesn't have one now. Has anyone did this before and what kind of problems can I expect? If additional wiring harness are needed where is the best place to get them?
Gusto,
Thanks for the info. I will give Todd a call this afternoon. Are you in the Cairo Vett Club in Jacksonville? I'm a member of the Twin Rivers Corvette Club in New Bern.
Yes, I believe we've met a couple of times at a few of the events in the area.
Todd and his Dad run a Corvette restoration shop in Beulaville. Just off Highway 24, halfway between Richlands and Kenansville. Todd has a MY 2004 ZO-6 that he turned into a convertible. You may have seen it at some of the shows in the area as well.
Hi all. Any chance someone could post what issues there were while doing a non-tele swap with a telescopic column? I'm mulling around the idea of doing it on mine as well. Thanks,
Other than the memory issues, it should be possible. The BCM will need the proper RPO codes plugged in. Does your car have the memory options already? The SCM controls the telescoping steering wheel, therefore possible wiring changes to get the power to it.
