I think I've messed up big time... Was trying to sort out column lock bypass and removed and replace fuse whilst engine running. Car cut out and now DIC wont come on, and car won't start..... any suggestions...
Make sure all fuses are in their proper places and that none of them are broken. Check them closely. If everything looks good then connect the battery back and see what happens. Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with your column lock. Keep us informed as to the outcome.
If your DIC is dead you are in trouble. The only time, I can recall a dead DIC, was when the battery was disconnected. If this is not the case, only a trip to the dealer can restore your DIC.

Double check ALL fuses, restore original hook up for column lock, disconnect battery for 1/2 hour, connect battery, re-program your keyless entry, lock and un-lock with remote, and try again.
Good Luck!

Had to get the car onto a salvage truck and taken up to Auckland to the guys who did my Right hand drive conversion (about 1 1/2 hours away). They changed a few fuses and believe it or not the car is running perfectly.
Glad it worked out. Don't disconnect electrical "thingies" of any sort while energized unless the shop manual tells you to for a specific reason. Microprocessors and related circuitry are NOT forgiving in this regard. I image a right-hand conversion on today's vehicles is an interesting proposition.
BTW, turning 54 y.o. this month I must confess I sometimes have the same problem, even my dealer's no help! Won't even talk to me about it.
