So I my self have not joined the club but my dealership did for me!!!! I brought it in for a recall and they "test drove it" top flew off and they had 4 employees state i never properly installed the top when i came in. now im stuck with a scratched, thankfuly not cracked, top. if anyone knows how to buff it out, i have herd some stories of people succesfuly doing so!
are you kidding??
you are not going to fight the dealer? i would call GM and complain right to them. the dealers have a service rating with their brands and damaging a car and refusing to fix it is terrible service.
if you didn't have it installed properly, why didn't it come off on the way to the dealer?
i totally would fight it.

Can't say that too many times. My dealer backed over mine and fixed it. They knew it was their fault. Unless you live right next door to the dealer you had to have gotten over 35 mph. My understanding is that at 35 mph that is when the top starts rattling and lifting off the car.

I agree!!
If you're SURE you did not leave the car with the top unlatched I would call the dealership, ask for the service manager, then the GM. If neither will make it right tell them you're going blow up Detroit's phones. They don't need those problems, or the negative press on the internet.....starting right here!!
here is the catch it was in the dealerships body shop literally the day before for a month. i tried to take my car from the bodyshop and my fuel cut off acted up. so they had 4 employees state that when i went in a month before i had the top off....but i took it all the way to the southwest regional manager and they said it was my word vs. them so.. just looking for a way to repair the scratches someone said rubbing compound and then a polish. its on the tinted targa so i wasnt sure.

Unfortunately I don't have any other answer for you other than to take it to a non dealership body shop and see if they have any suggestions over the counter for free. Then take it back to them to have it done for you. Good luck.
If you are going to give up (I wouldn't, but...) have the dealership body shop paint the top (I'm assuming it's a tinted one) for you. At least you have half a loaf.
Sorry to hear about your problems.... I had a dealership blow my engine up when they took it for a 90 mile test drive (all that for an air bag sensor that needed to be replaced) Then they claimed they didnt drive the car. So... I feel your pain!
If the dealer knew the top was not on correctly then why did they proceed to drive the car with a top that was not on properly???? Thats the BIG question! I don't think the have a clue as to if it was on properly or not... the car was in the hands of the dealer...they are responsible!
thank you all for your input..... maybe we can start a club called the dealer F*ing broke my car hahaha knowing this happened to more than just me i belive i will persuit this further. oh and VETTERDSTR the next day i threw a rod and had to replace my engine........ go figure..... Bad timing? not so sure now....
