Default Yeah Baby...Transgo kicks behind!

So you want 2 ft. chirp skids in your 1-2 shift..I got 'em. How about split second shifts that kick you in the @butt and remind you your driving the America's ultimate muscle car..yeah baby..I'm talkin' Transgo Shift kit for the 4L60E C5 transmission,ONLY from Transgo. This IS the unit to buy for all of you with those lazy converters and gears out there.Get it from Shawn atwww.TheLAPD.com...He's the best..'nuff said!

After all those disapointments having my car programmed (5 times between Superchips and TTS)and the converter installation problems, I am now 100% satisfied...Finally!:yesnod
I mean this Transgo has absolutely changed the complexion of the performance in my car. Everything is finally working together. No more hitting redline at 6500..No more slow soggy shifts ...No more transmission hunting between gears.Downshifts are instant and the converter kicks in...I'm sidewaya at 40 mph. I now have what I expected from all these mods I 've installed. It's like a F@#$ing symphony now. It's all come together. I'm besides myself :eek

For anyone thinking about this kit in a 2001 with a powerloader II and converter/gears.....DO IT!!!! I promise you, will thank me.

Special thanks to Steve at www.eastcoasttransmissions.com for a superb installation.Clean and meticulous. This minor surgery went without a hitch. The man KNOWS his stuff. :yesnod:For all you South Florida and cental florida guys...give him the business!

I'm going the track first opportunity I have and will post results.I WILL be at Bradenton Febriuary 10,2002 for the 3rd annual Breathless Performance Vette- Viper shootout and I WILL be ready this time :D

don't be shy, tell us what you REALLY think about it?! :jester

Just kidding, glad it worked it for you so well. Although I don't post much, i've followed your transmission/programming saga for some time now. Always happy to see a positive outcome for a fellow C5'er.

Regards,

So if I read this correctly, you are using PLII program and a shift kit? Does one not conflict with the other? I like the idea of the shift kit and want to do it, but I have ordered a PLII SEVERAL months ago (long story) and don't want to change or cancel the order. Thanx Jeff

JeffH355.....

No, it doesn't conflict with the PLII. When Steve Cole programs the PLII and you load ,it disarms the Torque management of the 2001.
There is NO conflict at all.The fact of the matter is I had Steve program the PLII twice. The shifts were soft and soggy.NOT what I expected. The fuel trim and the fans were set well. The speedo was calibrated for the gears fine. The car definately had a better general feel but the shift sharpness left alot to be desired. This Transgo is the best money I spent on ANY mod. A real SOTP difference

If your going to do this,be sure to use "2 spacers in the accumulator and drill out the 2nd gear hole to .096,3rd-.155 and 4th-.155.
Trust me you WILL love it!

P.S. Find a transmission shop that has done this before. It IS surgery and it's very tedious work. But It's teriffic!

Just got off de phone with Steve @ TTS and he says that the TransGo and PLII Code "can" compliment each other VERY well.

Although, when you install a Shift Kit your Shift Points will change +/- and "may" need to be reprogrammed if you end up too high or low of the Rev Limiter..

Well - this is getting interesting, I spoke with a Forum Vendor and he advised me NOT to install a TransGo Shift Kit, as he was told by some "Cookie Cutter" tuners that you will probably cause harm if you increase Shift Firmness via Code + a shift kit...

So, I am on hold trying to ask TransGo what they think about it...

How much loot for the install? How is around town driving under light throttle? Does it chirp in every gear all the time or just when you're emashing the throttle?

I know man - I have been wanting to do this for a while now - although - I have been told NOT to do it! It seems SO MUCH FUN! :yesnod:

I "feel" confident that the TransGo Kit (at the softest setting) should be just fine. :D

But, I will try again to get in touch with TransGo tomorrow, and see what they have to say..
