I see lots of rave reviews about the Vararam and it sounds good.
Have any users ever hooked up a pressure device to the intake structure to acutally see the pressue difference vs. the stock set up, especially at various speeds?? Any distributers out there that may have some figures?
Thanks

You see all the debates about the usefulness/benefits. I tend to think the pressure is similar to holding your hand out the window, or out the top at different speeds. However to get the full pressure you'd have to be at WOT since the throttle plate controls airflow.
I love my Vararam as well. I never seen a "pressure test" on one but I have seen some dyno test and track test. Most will agree the vararam will be the #1 or at least the #2 performer at the track over any other intake system (cold air or non cold air). I liked the way it looks and with the results most have I think its the best overall system on the market. I think (and feel by SOP) thier is something too the ram air affect once you get over 70 mph and up. But this is a highly debated subject on the forum. I also like it sucks in 100% outside air which is always cooler than under the hood temps. Just buy one - I dont thnk you will regret it at all!
Thanks, actually I have one. Got it as a Christmas present and can't wait to get it on! Figure it this way, it's like increasing atmospheric pressure, it has to help out.
For instance, if you are in higher altitude areas where the pressure is less, it hurts performance, dosn't it?
I guess if you think about it, it's a simple matter of physics. If you take the air entering the approx 16 sq inches (just a guess) of opening (at 60mph) and neck that down to the 2-3 inches (once again a guess) entering the TB, it has a definite "ram affect" just like "pinching" a water hose.
All I know is, I've been modding for too many years to count, and I've got a decent butt dyno by now, and the vararm, especially on a 40 degree morning, makes a BIG difference in how strong your car feels. It (along with other CAIs) will definitly make a difference!!
