I dont think one would fit in the C5 too well and even if it did some HUGE modifications would have to take place. I think the best choice would be to just do a big cube LS1 engine so that everything fits nicely and looks OEM. The power tuners are getting out of stroked/bored LS1s is amazing!
How about the 7.2 liter version of the LS1 racing engine. I believe that block and crank combo work out to about Hmm ... 427 CI? Would that qualify as a big block?
Considering that the LS1 is shorter, and lighter than the old small block, I would doubt that there is enough room to fit in the old big block engine.
