Default LS6 Stroker Project

I have just purchased 2 LS 6 blocks and began the building process. I am expecting anywhere from 600 - 750hp when completed, hopfully by spring. I am starting with a bare LS6 block, LS6 heads (Ported and polished), ASA racing cam, and that is just the beginning! I am going to reuse the TPIS long tubes I have on my LS1 now on the new motor.

When a stroker crank is installed do you need to machine any of the block?

The second block may be turned in to a 1000 hp MONSTER, OR be put in a friends 97 Z28.....Decisions..Decisions!

Heh, 2 LS6 blocks? What's the plan for the second one? Are you going with a 4.000" or 4.125" crank? Besides the Lunati pieces Scat and Cola are coming out with cranks too.

c5silverbullet,
Can I ask where you got your blocks and how much they set you back?
Thanks, Greg

You don't want to put that motor in a Z28 the engine bay is to cramped. I'll be your friend and let you put it in my car :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

I got the motor from a close friend at a Chevy dealer. He sold them for $1500 for BOTH. He owed me a MAJOR favor and that is how he paid me back.

Actually i beleive ARE was the first to punch out and stroke a facotry LS1 to 454ci.

The Bore is the big thing, and that 4.125 bore is used in stock LS1's for 388 all bores and other super strokers.

Nick Agostino posted a week or so ago, that there are no further issues with current resleeving technology.

I know the resleeving is cool now, but I didn't think anyone was going to 4.125 bore with the factory block
