Default Headers and passing inspection

I was wondering how people with headers pass inspection. If you connect the car to the OBDII port to pass inspection, does your tuner need to do something special? Iam only questioning cause some guy posted saying the minute your car is connected if you have "modified" it, you will fail....I find that hard to believe....lets hear about it peoples.

They also do a visual check for cat's in NJ. It's about as advanced as sliding a mirror under the car and looking for some buldges, but they do check.

Default passed in il.

i've got a gm hot cam, short tube headers, xpipe and borlas and my 99 vert passed obd check with flying colors. i would clear the codes, take her out for a long drive, with some key offs to reset the computer and make sure she is warmed up before you enter the test area. apparently the computer has to go through so many running cycles to fully reset. i found the original info on this site via search and i think i searched "passing inspection" but i am sure you can find what you are looking for specifically.

Or just hand the inspector a $20 usually always works.

In Oregon all the do is connect to the OBD port. No visual, no tail pipe sniffer. In and out in about 10 minutes.
