Anywhere around +5 on the LTFTs is good in my opinion. I have heard you are more apt to pull a degree or two more timing when your LTFTs are slightly in the positive. I would leave it where you are at.
Dan, were the KR values at WOT or not? Looks to me like you are good for non-WOT. I'm a rookie at this, but if I were you, I might try one click rich for WOT setting on the MAFT.
Allan, I'm getting some KR in both base & WOT, actually more so in the base. I just went back and checked, most of the KR occur at low rpm (900-1200), but there are a couple at ~2200 rpm. Also, the KR happened between fuel cell trims 6-13.
I went ahead and turned the WOT setting 1 click to the right to 2% rich, and left the base at 30% lean. Hope this will cure the KR problem. :seeya
OK, if you are getting most of your KR at lower rpm, I think I would back off the lean on the base by a click, and leave the WOT at 0 for the moment. See how that changes things. If that eliminates the KR at lower RPM, but there is still some at WOT, then try one click rich (2%) for WOT. I think you first have to deal with the KR at low RPM - I have never seen ANY KR in my car except at WOT. Damn, sounds like you're getting really close.
dsk, I will email you my work address so you can communicate better with me.
Id stay at the setting that keeps you at that +3 or so on your trims.
Its better to simply monitor WOT by looking at Throttle position. I dont try to average via a fuel cell for WOT. I just look it over to get the jist via looking at the Throttle position. When you get my email address, send me your latest trace and maft settings.
I was under the impression he got KR when he was at 30% lean setting, but he backed down to 25%. Mabey I misread. No I wouldnt ignore KR at non WOT.
He was getting KR at 30% lean, and I suggested he go to 25% to see what would happen, leaving the WOT at 0. Looks to me like you and I are telling him the same thing, to try 25% BASE. Of course, it could be he was just lugging the engine a tad, which is always a sure way to get some knock if there is any to be had.
