Before going to the fuel trim programming, have you had the car tuned and/or when did the missing begin? Have you checked the obvious items like a bad plug wire, plugs, PCV valve. fuel cap?

 

I agree, Look at the simple things first. Even if a spark plug has low mileage - It can still go bad. Just as a ignition wire.
Also in the dark without any light near or in the engine compartment - You may see some arching going on if the wires are bad. This would be done if you don't want to touch the wires when it is running. You will get a shock.

thanks for the replies, now that i think about it i put new gm red wires on a couple weeks ago and have not driven the car since,started and idled fine after i did it but did not road test. will have to check connections when it stops raining,.
