OK guys and gals, I just changed my brakes and rotors all the way around, hoping to rid myself of a braking vibration. I only got it on braking. No vibration at high speed or when down shifting to slow down. So I figure the new rotors will solve this. Both back rotors had a small line that looked like a crack across each rotor. Anyway, while I had it apart, I was inspecting all the bushings and linkage and noticed two different things I want to make sure are normal and will not be a problem. The first two pics is a connector type rod from the rear sway bar. Rubber bushing looks to be worn or broke down. Second two pics looks like a nut should be here (front fiberglass leaf spring) but both sides are like this, so this must be normal? Thanks for any insight!

Front looks normal. you can screw that speed nut down if you want, its no biggy.

the sway bar end links should be replaced. They look to be plastic, you can replace them with aluminum ones. IMO. BUT, I would not think that would be the cause of braking vibration. I'm no expert.

Personally speaking, if it was my car, those would get replaced. I'm not sure if it would make a lot of difference though.

Thanks guys!! That was my thinking also. Probably not a handling problem, but I would feel better. Thanks again!!! Wonder what the part number would be? I will check with Gene.

most vibrations from braking are caused by bad shocks. everyone assumes their rotors are warped but 90%of the time its the shocks not doing their job.

Bad shocks won't cause a vibration only when braking. Replace or turn the rotors.

It is not your vibration problem, but I would replace those endlinks.

Use metal end links and your handling will increase dramatically. The plastic ones bend.

Your pictures look normal and my plastic endlinks looked like that too when I replaced them. Gene will have the aluminum ones.

Did replacing your rotors fix your braking issue? I had the same problem. The braking vibration is pad material buildup on the rotor. A couple of 80-20mph hard stops clear it up, but it comes back in a few hundred miles. I switched to a slotted rotor and the issue never came back.

Well, it appears the vibration is gone. I put on PowerSlot slotted rotors and Hawk HPS brake pads. I put 120 miles on since the change lightly braking the first 70 miles to get the cadmium finish off per instructions. I did get a thump thump thump when leaving the club today, but could not recreate it. Hoping it was just the road, but felt like right rear. Everything was torqued to factory specs, so nothing is loose. I do have some squeal on stopping. We will see if things improve over time and break-in. I tried the hard braking stops with the old pads and nothing helped. It just vibrated harder!!!

We were supposed to lightly break those off? I bed my rotors/pads on them. The cadmium was gone in a 15 min drive. Oh well, they've been performing well.
