Default Hood bolt holes

I was outside changing a turn signal bulb and noticed that one of the bolts holding the hood to the hood bracket(13mm) seemed loose. I grabbed the ratchet and tried to tighten it up and apparently the threads in the hood have pulled out
Now my question is how would I go about fixing this? It seems like the threads are fiberglass(not metal like a heli-coil). Can I locktite/glue a helicoil in the existing hole or...?

Sorry, no, you can not glue anything in it that would hold. There is a threaded metal plate inside that is held in place by a rivet that you can see through a hole in the bracket. Get the bolt out. If the threads are striped on the bolt, replace it. If the threads on the bolt are good, tap the hole one size larger, and use a new bolt. Just my opinion, I've done it before, someone else might might have a better solution.

I had a similar issue with a new hood I installed. I installed helicoils in all 4 holes and they work great. Actually better than stock because hood threads along with the backing plate giving you more thread that the stock configuration.

Byron I removed the bolt and the threads inside the hood are stripped. The bolt is fine.

Threed how did you secure the helicoils inside the hood?

Thanks in advance!
