I need to get another Key made for the car because I only have one. Is the Chevy Dealer the only place that can do it? Live in Zip code 20653 Southern Maryland
No, any good locksmith should carry the keys and the resistor chips for our cars. If it weren't for the chip, you could get it done at any hardware store. I ordered a key blank from the big auction site with the correct resistor, and had it cut at Lowes.
Got less than 15 bucks in my spare key. I went to the dealer to order it, they told me which one it was and the price (45 I think). I thanked them and ordered it off ebay for 9.99!! Had it cut at a locksmith and works like a charm!
use a digital multimeter set to resistance.
One lead on one side of the pellet, the second lead on the other side...
