Default necessary maintenance?

I had my oil changed at Mobil Express this morning. The techs were very efficient, courteous and I had no problem with their work. I do have a question, though.

They offered me several services that I denied, but am now not sure if I should have. They offered an oil system flush prior to adding new oil ($59), an injector cleaning service ($59), and a brake fluid flush ($?). I never did any of these things on my C4 that I just sold with 110,000 miles on it. The C5 that I presently have (the car in question) has 31K miles. Should I have had these services done, how really important are they, are they really necessary or just an extra recommended polish up service if I have a spare $150 bucks? The car is a daily driver and never beaten on.

Those services will make your car go faster because you have a lighter wallet .....

Complete to "perform" these "services" ....

They offered an oil system flush prior to adding new oil ($59) And what will they "flush" the oil with .... oil like they just put in ... WORTHLESS ...

an injector cleaning service ($59) A can of Chevron's Techron ($8.00) does the same thing

and a brake fluid flush ($?) Have your brake fluid done when you replace the pads ... otherwise USELESS

You totally did the right thing in saying NO

open lid on your brake fluild and suck out the old fluid with a turkey baister, being very careful to not spill any, as it will remove paint. (I put down cloth, then paper towels) Then add one new small can of DOT 3 Brake Fluid. It should take nearly the full can. Do this two times a year and your brake fluid should stay looking pretty good.
