Welcome to the forum. I might suggest that you use the search function at the top of the page to help answer questions about your car. It was a great help to me in the beginning, and will save you from potential ridicule.

Wow. I must have a super rare 2000 Z06 then.
The FRC was around in 99 and 2000 before the Z06 ever came out.
dumb question, never owned a vet just baught a 2002 how do i know if its a zo6? how much stock horse please be patient
Look at your VIN .... if the 8th position of the VIN is an "S" ... you are the proud owner of a Z06 as it left the factory ..... if it is a "G" ..... and you thought you were buying a Z06 .... you got ripped off .....
And that's why I recommend he look at the VIN ....... it leaves little doubt if the car is, or is not, a Z06 ....
G = LS1 engine from the factory - NOT a Z06
S = LS6 engine from the factory - it IS a Z06
You can fake a lot of stuff to make people think they bought a Z06 ... but it is REALLY difficult to "fake" the VIN. All he has to do is look at the VIN and that is the "end" of the story ......
1) You can not open the back window on FRCs through model year 2000 ... and they are NOT Z06s.
2) 2001 Z06s have 385 HP ... not 405.
OK .... I'll add to my previous post ....
If the 8th position in the VIN is an S ..... and the 10th digit (Model Year) is a 2 (or higher) then the car is a Z06 producing 405 HP .... if the 10th digit (a 2001 model year) is a 1 then he engine is rated at 385 HP ..... go see the Corvette Museum for more information on this ...

Always check the VIN. Cosmetics such as the badges and other trim items can easily be replicated on any FRC.

Yes ... the VIN is the SURE way to determine. I was making a comment back to someone making un-true comments. There seems to be a lot of "Z06 experts" with un-expert information. Those who are experts wouldn't need the VIN, only the newbies.
Maybe you should read SLOWER, before gagging on the truth.
Yeah, yeah ... 2002. Since you didn't stipulate that in your post it sounded like a blanket statement. Maybe you should elaborate more and also double up on your meds.

I don't need meds, as I am not the attack dog here. You attacked me for what I said to the original poster, without obviously reading both original and my post, otherwise you would have understood what I said.
