Default Callaway Honker

Let me start by saying that I am impressed with this forum. Most forums I've run across in the past turn into childish bickering and swearing(in a politically correct way!!). I have learned more useful info
from this site than any, period!
I have a 2000 z51 6speed. I would like to get a Callaway Honker, but what is the difference between a 2000 and a 2001. If I'm spending $500.00 I don't want to have the smaller of the two. I have no complaints about changing the maf if it's larger.
P.S. I'm on my way to Sebring this weekend to see my C6r's run in person. When I get back I'm ordering EFI live. I will tune this car myself.

Welcome aboard! There is the occasional childish bickering from time to time on this forum as well but it rarely gets out of hand. Overall it is a great forum and folks are very helpful.

As far as I know 01's have a larger Maf sensor than 97/00.Also 97/00 have a second sensor on the air bridge, the 01/04 do not.

I know I have a mat sensor on the air bridge. And in this case I think size matters. I had a chance to drive a 2008 zo6 today and a 2006 ls2 6speed man is my engine quiet.I did the zip tie trick and It's still more quiet than a stock c6.

The 1997-2000 cars use a smaller MAF sensor than the 2001-2004 cars. Consequently, the coupler that fits from the MAF to the throttle body and the coupler that fits from the MAF to the Honker duct are different for the two kits.

If you install the later MAF sensor on your 2000 Z51, purchase the 2001-2004 Honker. You'll also have to do some PCM calibration to make the larger MAF sensor work.

You wil love the Honker, I've had mine for two yrs now and absolutely no problems. Installation is a breeze, about 2 1/2 beers (tall boys)

Well I hate to disappoint you but it happens here too... But I put up with it because there are truly some knowledgable people here that love to share what they have learned. And that makes putting up with the BS worth the while. The good far out weighs the ugly...

You'll that on all forums by the way...

Ok! so it looks like I'm in search of a larger MAF. I'll deal with the tuning. but does anyone know if the wires are the same. Point of all this is to switch to a 2002-2004 zo6 maf. If I need to dig into the harness I'll pull the EWD at work. FYI I.m a service writer for a GM dealer in central Pa. I'd be glad to help with GM VIS questions, or parts. I've also been the parts manager for 5.5 yrs at our Toyota store.
I'm not trying to start a business here just tryin to help.
