Im not sure about our cars, but when i had my truck modded really hard, Mike Hall didnt give me too much slack about it and replaced a rear end at no charge. I dealt with Truitt
Where is Paul @ Corvette of Houston? He is the only one I know that works for a Chevy dealer in Houston.
Corvette's of Houston is not a Chevy dealership. They can not do factory warranty work. I wish they could, but they can't. The warranty work they do is extended warranties beyond the factory warranty. For minor things, I just pay them rather than take the car in for "factory" warranty issues. :cheers:
I brought my 95 Z28 A4 in to Courtesy Chevrolet with an LT4 Hot Cam, no cats (i.e. loud as hell and camming) after my car had been to the track and wouldn't shift into third gear.........(I was under warranty by 1,000 miles or so, but my car was obviously very modified)
.......they gave me a complete new 99 4L60E.......no questions asked.......
I've been going to Courtesy ever since then. My friend Daine had a nightmare of a time with them with his ZR-1, but I suspect that it had something to do with the fact that they know nothing about ZR-1s. I'd suggest Courtesy. :)
I have only taken my car to the dealer once, for the column lock b.s., and it wasn't a good experience. I went to Mike Hall and they had the audacity to say that the Donaldson air filter was the reason the CL malfunctioned. WTF?!? And on top of that they scratched the fender while messing around under the hood...where they had no business being.
On a positive note I have heard nothing but good things about Courtesy. I have talked to a lot of people and all of them were very happy with their care and professionalism over there.
I'm sure that every dealer will have good and bad experiences. I have the good fortune of personally knowing the owners or general managers of several dealerships in the Houston area. I buy more cars than I have any right (or money) to, and am very loyal, so I probably get better treatment at some dealers because of that.
Having said that, there are two Chevy dealers that at a management level are very good people. One is Robbins in Humble. They are the one I know extremely well, up to the owner, and I have bought seven cars from them in the last six years. Ask for Chris - the manager of the service writers and tell him I sent you.
The other dealer I know is Les Marks in LaPorte. I have bought a car from them - the GM is my neighbor. I also have some first hand stories about them from an ex-employee who confirms that they are very fair and go over and above in resolving customer problems. The GM there is Ken Penrose. He is a first class guy.
I have been a manager of businesses myself, and I know that no matter how good you strive to be, your employees will make mistakes. I'm sure these dealers will to. Unfortunately, most dealers have high turnover. I try to deal with dealers who I know will stand behind me when there is a problem - because if you deal with someone long enough, there will be mistakes made.

My problem with Les Marks is if you didn't buy your car from them they will put you to the back of the longest line :confused: I use Timmers in Pasadena, they're a small organization but have had good luck with them.
Courtesy warned me if I left my CLB in place they would not honor my warranty on any electrical problems I was having. I know this isn't a mod in the sense you are talking about but it tells you something about their state of mind. I've had horrible warranty service from them and would not recommend them to anyone. I've had to supply them with TSB's in order to get my car fixed several times. Half the time they don't even follow the TSB procedures and substitute their own fix which of course doesn't fix the problem.
It seems others here have had good luck with them but I would avoid them at all costs.
Everyone seems to have different experience at different dealers......I had very bad dealing with Mike Hall on my K1500 Blazer when the rear end went out; never ran big tires, never went off-raod all that much, and no real heavy hauling; they went round and round trying to find a way of taking of it under warranty; I think it depends on the dealership personell, and the mod itself;
I'd talk to Corvettes of Houston, or call Bill Heard; I've had good dealings with them ( altho I'm not heavily modded) as have several friends;
Re: Mod friendly dealer in Houston? (Chopper Larry)
Does anyone have good ties with Bill Heard????? That's where I get my service done but have really gotten to know Mike Guerro (Corvette Service Advisor). If anyone has good ties with them, please ask them and let me know what they say.

Mike Guerro is pretty cool guy. I bent a few pushrods about 1/2 year ago because of a missed gear and they covered it under warrantee.
But last time when I took my car back in to get the "rocking seat" issues fixed, one their other adviser (not Mike or the Vette technician) told me "Right now your seat is not rocking bad enough. Why don't you come back in a few months. If it is really bad, it will go worse". WTF..... :mad :mad :mad
After 1/2 hour of going back and forth, they agreed to replace my seat rail. But then they put in the fu.cking same part number as the bad one before. Now my seat start to rock and make squeaky noises again. I'm just gonna wait until they come out with a permnament fix and then bring it back in.

I've had good luck with Bill Heard. They fixed my sticky brakes and rear end leak. They had no problem with any of my mods and I actually had to wait to get the car back because they were showing it off to some of the salesmen. The last time I was in they wanted to do the column lock TSB but when I told them about the bypass, they said that it was a better fix and wouldn't do the recall work.
Mike Guerro is a good guy and easy to work with. I highly recommend them. Oddly though, Landmark is owned by the same company and sells more Vettes than Bill Heard, but their service department/body shop is the worst I've ever dealt with.
bad exp at bill heard for me. The main 1 was they put a paint chip on my BSM.
2. It took 2 trips to fix a faulty fuel gauge sensor.
3.they turned the rotors but didnt torque the wheels correctly' resulting in a steering vibration that was'nt figured out until 5 months later by yours truly, and torque per manuf. spec by yours truly.
Nah, dont think i'll go back there, besides the corvette tech there has moved to the office.
