Know what you mean, bought mine with just over 32,000 on it and noticed on ride home how bad it rode, did some research here on the Forum and sure enough found the shock stuffers were still in!

Oh yes, a HUGE difference! I bought mine in Austin, TX and on way back home got scared more then a few times by how bad it handled going through some construction areas. Really jarred me around pretty bad. Later that year after removing them gave it a good test, went up to Tail of the Dragon and it handled great!

I wonder if the previous owner ever complained to the dealership?

All I know is that it is INEXCUSABLE that some Chevrolet dealer missed this at PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection).

Bottom line, a 55k plus dollar car should not have the function of a State of the Art system compromised by inept dealers.

I bet the reason the former owner got rid of the car is because of the ride.

And that would accomplish what ??????

Take a look at this thread .... read posts #1 and #8 in particular .... this 70 year old lady ASKS them to check for the stuffers and then has to crawl under the car herself to find the problem ..... effing dealers ....

Default Update on ZeroToSixty's AE.......Took it to the Chevy Dealer

Listen to this experience

Decided that I wasnt going to spend a moment of my time to fix an issue the Chevy dropped the ball on,....5 years ago.

Here is the conversation,.........

Like to have you take a look at my 2003 AE and remove the MSR shock spacers that should have been taken off in 2003 at delivery.

Dealer......What day would you like us to do that ?

Now,..........it should have be done on the PDI in 2003,......I would say it would qualify for someone to take care of it as soon as possible.

Dealer,.......I dont have anyone to look at it.

I think this is a major customer satisfaction issue, I want you to find someone to look at it immediately.

Dealer,........was the car purchased here ?

No,.......and that should make ZERO difference.......you represent Chevrolet,.........this car has 30k miles on it and has never had working shocks. That is a major liablility for Chevy,.........what if I wrecked the car and the cause was a non function suspension.............in that state because a Chevy dealer didnt do a correct PDI............you could be at fault.

Dealer,..........I will see if I can have someone look at it this afternoon and you may have to pay for that service.

I betcha I wont........................I want to speak to the owner of the dealership and explain the situation. We are talking about a 15 min operation. You guys can handle the 20k cars just fine, but the 40k plus customers do not get a quality dealer experience (like with my BMW).

Dealer..............let me talk to my service director.

Long story short,.......the Director knew about the issue and what it would take to fix it and got it on the car on the lift while I had lunch with my 2 year old.

THE RIDE HOME WAS HEAVEN...........handles like my buddies Porsche and rides like my BMW.........Wow,......what a difference. This may be the most comfortable high performance sports car of all time. UN BEE LIVE ABLE.

And now you see why Ferrari, Audi, etc. are licensing this system from GM ..... and the ZR1 Corvette will only have this suspension on it ...

Glad you got it taken care of ....
