OK, I have a good one for those who love to solve problems. My cruise control works fine unless I start going down any kind of decline. Basically as soon as I start to pick up any speed (again from going down a decline) my cruise control disengages (displays “Disengaged” on my DIC) and never reengages. Any ideas?
Yup ... and if you have a Tech2 you can go into your PCM and bring up a parameter called "Cruide Disengage History 1-8". This parameter will show you the reason the cruise control disengaaged for the last 8 times. Reasons can be things like "CRUISE OFF" showing the driver turned off the cruise at the stalk. One of the possible reasons is ... "Over Set Speed" and it is described as "The TAC module detects that the vehicle speed is greater than the cruise memory speed by more than a pre-determined amount ...."
I think it is 4 MPH over .... so if you have the Cruise set to 65 ... then if the car going down a hill reaches 69, it automatically disengages the Cruise Control.
Very interesting and thanks for the reply. I'm thinking that maybe that factor set amount must have gotten changed when I last got a custom tune because it seems to be set to nearly Zero change. The slightest reduction in speed causes the cruise control to disengage
Does anyone know exactly where in the PCM that code is located?
