Default Larger Fuel Injectors

At what point would larger than stock injectors be recommended when doing modifications on an LS1? I'm currently running Z06 ported heads, hurricane cold air intake system, Bassani headers and hi-flow cats with X-pipe and Z06 Ti exhaust, comp cam with just slight larger specs and lift than the stock 2002-04 Z06 bumpstick, stock MAF & TB. While logging data with my tuning program I've noticed that the duty cycle for the injectors hits 100% under full throttle high rpm operation and was told that anything more than 80% means you need bigger injectors. If thats true, how much bigger than stock would I be looking at?

Thanks

Look for some 30# SVO injectors.

100% isnt terrible... if you are planning on leaving it like that it should be fine... but any other mod will require bigger injectors.

As long as you don't run it WOT for long periods of time like road racing --short bursts at 100% should be OK

I was in the same boat as you with the upgrade to my '99 causing me to see 102% duty cycle. I went ahead and upgraded to 30# SVO injectors just before getting a dyno tune. Now I top out in the high 70% range. Time to bring on some more power. Here is a comparison picture of the injectors.

Thanks for your replies. I've only taken my car to track for 1/4 blasts, no road racing. Didn't want to think I was leaving any horsepower on the table or getting into any dangerous engine territory. I'm going to put the car on the dyno this spring when the weather gets better. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what my combo should make?

28 lbers are good to 450-475 RWHP. 30s should take you to 500. I was just starting to max my stockers at 465ish, I think. I am running 38s now and will be looking for 550 RWHP next time I hit the dyno. it depends on the tune also. if you are running rich then they will not take you as far.

The cam specs are 212/218 duration, .558/.563 lift. I'm not sure what kind of dyno they have but I'm pretty sure it's not the mustang make. I"m guessing I'll make around 375rwhp.

Thanks
