Default Z06 rear wheels on front?

Anybody used a square setup with C5 Z06 rear wheels on all 4 corners? I am wondering if this would be good for hpde events with slicks but not sure how rears fit on front..

I don't no exactly what you mean by a "square setup" but I'm running 9.5"x18 front and 10.5"x18 rear with no problems. many members are running 18" on all four corners.

"Square" means identical sized wheels front and back.

If you do that the Traction Control will have issues. The traction control was designed with the expectation that wheel/tire diameter will be 1 inch larger in the back than the front.

Still looking for an answer to the original question, if the OEM Z06 rears will fit on the front of my 2001 Z06 so I can use them all the way around.. I guess it is a question of backspacing..

Second question now though, understanding traction control may freak out, will ABS have any issues though?

You can use the OEM Z06 wheels on the front...and the ABS will work fine. There is an allowed amount of error built in to the ABS and this allowance accommodates equal sized wheels before it starts freaking out. Issues start coming when the fronts are larger than the rears.

What is the widest tire you can run with this combo without rubbing?

Has anyone else run a "square" setup ? And if so what tires and size on the 10.5" exactly ?
I have the predator tuner. It has an option to input different front and rear tires sizes. It says that it is for the speedo. Does anyone know if this will correct the AH calculations as well ?

Thanks,
Jaraxle

^^There are a number of people doing this who track (HPDE) their cars. Might want to do a search or make a post in the auto-cross/roadracing section. I have seen several posts on this subject.

Works fine. OEM 18x10.5 Speedlines front and rear, 285/35-18 Nitto RII front, 305/35-18 RII rear.

Search my previous posts for a long winded explanation of all the pros/cons of this setup... to much to keep typing over and over.

Are those Falken's ? Rt-615. There are no contact issues ? I seem to keep coming across conflicting info. Any more info would help. There was no details in your previous post(s).

thanks

I know this is an old post but the issue is still current for a lot of us.
I do not think traction control or ABS will have any problem as long as the size tires (and overall diameter is about an inch different). I plan on using 265-35-18 on the front with a diameter of 25.3" ,same diameter as the standard 265-40-17 and either 295-35-18 rear with diameter of 26.1" or the 305's.
Bob at House of Wheels says there will be some rubbing in the inner fenders but I was not clear if that was with the wheels or the larger tires. I do not think the 265-35-18 will rub? They are 10.5" wide whereas the 265-40-17 are 9.5" wide.

Nothing like bringing to life a 4 year old thread instead of starting a new one.
