Trunk release....feature?
Weird electrical issue, for you mousover types.
A week or so ago, the trunk release button stopped working when the car was running. Normally, I could shift to neutral, pull the e-brake up, and push the button. That stopped, so I had to shut the car down, pop the trunk, start the car up. Fine, whatever. I could still pop the trunk with the fob, even if the car was locked.
This morning, I popped the trunk with the fob, and the alarm went off until I unlocked the car with the fob.
Anyone have any ideas about what is going on here? What can I check?
I had a similar problem with the alarm, but not the trunk inside release. What I found was that my pass door power lock was not actually locking the door when the button or fob was pressed. If I opened any other opening, the alarm would go off, even though I had unlocked with fob. It doesn't really make sense, but it must get the alarm system out of sequence. You might check to see if all the doors are physically locking, I didn't notice mine for a while cause I don't have passengers often.
