Hey guys. Been busy lately. Finally got the vette back and took it for a tune. Put out 438rwhp and 386rwtq. Lower than what I was expecting but car is just insane fast. Anyways the clutch pedal sticks, only after a high rpm run. Second gear it really doesn't do it but when keeping in it into 3rd gear and go over 5500rpms the clutch pedal will stick to the floor. The clutch stays engaged. I then lift the pedal off the floor with my foot. Pedal comes right back up. I then push it right back down and everything works just fine. The fluid is clear and just put in new fluid. There is no clutch smell whatsoever and the clutch doesn't slip at all. I can normal drive the car and slip the clutch right after this happens and no problems. What do you guys think is causing this??? Possible slave cylinder going bad??? Thanks
Do a search for "sticking pedal" or any other creative term for the condition. You'll get tons of possible reasons but no cure .
Mine does it too and it really takes the fun out of 400+ whp .
Basically if you have an LSx clutch and 400+ RWHP you are in for a sticking pedal... The options for aftermarket clutches are endless, I went for a Textralia OZ700 Z-grip - and well, don't have a sticking pedal any more but can't say I like the clutch either, but I'll wait until I am done breaking it in before I condemn it...
Keep us posted jbauch357. I'm thinking about the Tex also. I'm not happy about spending $1K for parts and 6-8 hours of my time on my back doing the work though .
I installed a Textralia OZ 700 with LS7 throwout bearing, Calloway master and OEM slave about 10 days ago and am not particularly happy. I like the way the clutch pedal feels - stiffer than OEM - but this endless clutch chatter is becoming annoying. If it doesn't clear up soon I'm pulling the Textralia clutch and going back to an OEM Z06 clutch.

what has substantially helped mine is putting it in 3rd revving up to ~3k RPM and slipping the clutch under a heavy load - I've probably done that 5 times good and hard. That killed about half the chatter, but it's still there - and still damn annoying. I am going to do it a few more times and see if that resolves it - don't know what to do if it's still chattering...

I'm one of the many with the sticky clutch problem.. I went from the stocker... to the oem Z06 clutch...same issue happened again. I just put in a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, new slave, pilot bearing etc. I have done a ton of reading here and other forums, Ive been asking questions about clutches not only for the Corvette but on other high performance cars and I have not heard a bad thing yet about the Centerforce. I will not know my results for about another week though. By the way... the Centerforce is half the price of the Tex.. $450-500 and everyone who has it says it feels Stock and it will hold up to (I think) its 650 rwhp.
Steve Thanks how do you loike the clutch pedal so far? did you have any issues with the pedal sticking before? Thanks Eddie.
Eddie, the car isnt on the street until next week so wont know until then but yes. It would stick when I hit high rpms running through the gears. I will post the new set up and my thoughts on it as the clutch issue seems to always be around the forum.

I have continued to beat on the clutch and the pedal is finally feeling like it should... the chatter has got a little better, but is still wwwwaaaayyyyy excessive for a street car... I am going to give it another couple weeks before I start contacting vendors and manufacturers about getting the thing warrantied (yeah right) and filing a labor claim since it's going to have to be done twice (not a prayer in hell of that one being successfull)...
