window relay help.

Sorry if this is stupid but can someone explain to me what the window relay does and how to replace it if its bad. My window stopped working and i dont think it is the regulator.

With the key on, press the window button and listen for a clicking sound. If you hear it, that would be an indication that the window motor is bad.

i dont hear anything when i hit the button which led me to think the motor might not be the problem.

thanks. I saw that sticky but didnt want to do all that till i knew for sure it was the relay. Is there any way to test to see if its the motor or regulator or relay?
