Does anyone know if there is a standard ratio to rpm drop or gain when changing the tire heights?
Im running a 26" tire with a set of 390 gears in a c5 and im trying to find out how many rpms i will lose on a 28" tire through the traps. i was told there is a standard ratio to figure that out.
Easy. Changing from 26 to 28 is 28/26=1.0769 or 7.7% for a standard ratio in your situation. Divide your rpms by 7.7% or 1.077 to get your desired results. If you trapped at 5,000rpm before it will now be 5,000/1.077=4642
