You won't gain much (3-5 rwhp) with stock heads/cam. But if you're planing on doing a Head/Cam package(10+ rwhp) at some later time then i'd wait until then to get one.....might be cheaper, plus you can have the "Tuner" do the install.

worth 15 RWHP on my heads/cam. Forget the throttle body..not much gain from it.

The throttle body is a very "iffy", at best but the LS6 intake is a winner..especially if you plan to mod the heads/cam.

Here is a comparison if Different Head flow and different Intake flow numbers.
On a stock LS1 motor the 01+ intake is not worth much HP. Only about 3 to 5 HP peak. It gains a lot more tho with heads and cam etc...
It doesnt take much for even the 01+ intake to become restrictive in a large displacement high flow motor.

With heads/cam I think so. Without I don't think the gains are much.

Very interesting chart. What is a "truck" intake? Is the truck version of the LS1 vasty different from ours?
Thanks

Re: IS THE LS6 INTAKE MANIFOLD A GOOD MOD?? (3rdtoy)
The 4.8/5.3 and 6.0 Liter Engines are mechanically the same as the LS1/LS6 5.7 liter engines. They use different intakes, cams, and such, but things like heads, crank, etc are interchangable. Much like the small block chevys of old interchangability.
An ineresting tidbit. The 2001+ 6.0 liter aluminum truck head is identical to the LS6 head, except it has a little larger combustion chamber. Ideal for Forced induction.
